* Title
Supernovae exploding in dense circumstellar media
* Abstract

I discuss the effect of dense circustellar media surrounding supernova progenitors on the early emission of hydrogen-rich (Type IIP) supernovae. Most hydrogen-rich supernovae are explosions of red supergiants. We performed numerical light-curve modeling of red supergiant explosions within circumstellar media and compared the synthetic light curves with observations. We found that the quick rise of light curves observed in hydrogen-rich supernovae indicates that there are dense circumstellar media around the red supergiant supernova progenitors. Our results indicate that red supergiants generally have high mass-loss rates in the final decades before their explosions.
