The recent Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect (SZE) surveys, such as the South Pole Telescope (SPT) or Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT), allow us to uniformly detect galaxy clusters or groups out to redshift ≲ 1.5 and revolutionize the galaxy cluster science.
In this talk I will present the multi-wavelength studies of the SPT-selected clusters, in particularly the lensing magnification effect and the baryon contents inside massive galaxy clusters.
In the first part, I will present a novel method to estimate the masses of galaxy clusters using the detection of density enhancement of the background normal galaxies induced from the lensing magnification.
In the second part I will present the stellar, intracluster medium (ICM) and the total masses of 14 SPT-selected galaxy clusters with median redshift z = 0.9 and mass M500 = 6 × 10^14 M⊙.
We then discuss these baryon contents inside massive clusters as the function of mass and redshift.
