The Astronomy Program in the Department of Physics and Astronomy is located on the Gwanak campus of the Seoul National University, in the suburbs of Seoul. The Astronomy Program is located at the second and third floors of Building #19.
For a foreign traveler, it could be an adventure to get to the Astronomy Program (Building Number #19) at the Seoul National University (SNU). Here are some recommended ways to the Astronomy building.
FROM Incheon International Airport TO Hoam Faculty House
There is a public airport limousine bus (#6017) which serves Incheon International Airport and comes directly to the the Hoam Faculty House,
Purchase a ticket for the #6017 and take a #6017 bus at the bus stop 6B or 13A (see figure below). The ticket booths are located close to the bus stops. The bus fare is 15,000 Won in Korean currency. It takes about 80 minutes under normal traffic conditions to get from the airport to the Hoam Faculty House, and the service is available daily from 5:40 AM to 10:35 PM in every 30-40 minutes. There is no charge for the normal amount of baggage.
The airport limousine bus #6017 stops at 6B and 13A of the Arrival Floor(1F).
There is a public airport limousine bus (#6003) which serves Incheon International Airport and comes directly to the main gate of Seoul National University.
Purchase a ticket for the #6003 and take a #6003 bus at the bus stop 6A or 12B (see figure above). The ticket booths are located close to the bus stops. The bus fare is 9,000 Won in Korean currency. It takes about 90 minutes under normal traffic conditions to get from the airport to the university, and the service is available daily from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM in every 12-20 minutes. There is no charge for the normal amount of baggage.

The final stop of the bus is the main gate of the Seoul National University. Since the main gate is still beyond the walkingdistance from the Hoam Faculty House, you need to take a taxi.
Note that the main gate of the SNU is fairly isolated that it sometimes takes long to find an unoccupied taxi. The recommended way is therefore to get off at the penultimate station (Gwanak-Gu Office) or at the antepenultimate station (Seoul National University Subway Station) of #6003 bus, and take a taxi there.
Show the driver this map with directions to the Hoam Faculty House. The taxi fare is normally around 3,000-4,000 Won in Korean currency.
There is Airport Railroad Express(AREX) at the B1 floor of Incheon International Airport, AREX runs to Gimpo Airport, from 05:27 AM to 23:36 PM approximately every 10 minutes. The fair is 3,400 Won (Korean currency).
At Gimpo Airport, buy a subway ticket amounting to 1,200 Won and transfer to subway line #5 (Purple line). Click here for Seoul Subway map. Make sure that you are going toward the downtown Seoul.
At Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station (Station #523 or #236), transfer to line #2 (Green Line) in the direction toward Seoul National University Station (#228).
Get off at Naksungdae Station (#227), one stop past Seoul National University Station (#228). At Naksungdae Station, follow exit #4 to the ground level using an escalator
At the airport, take a taxi and show the driver this map with directions all the way to the Hoam Faculty House, Taxis are available on the Arrival Floor,
Note that there are two types of taxis: Black Delux taxis (expensive with larger space) and Normal taxis. If you take a normal taxi, you will be asked to pay around 70,000 Won in Korean currency when you arrive. (Black Delux taxi will cost you 100,000 Won.) It takes one hour or so under normal traffic conditions. Taxis are available 24 hours a day and will hold four passengers.
FROM Hoam Faculty House TO the Astronomy Building
Go to the Bus Stop #22 across from the Hoam Faculty House. You may want a bus that goes uphill (rather than downhill), in the direction toward the rear gate of the Seoul National University. Take the Bus #02, which runs every 5-10 minutes, Pay 700 Won in Korean currency on board and get off at Amphitheater bus stop (Stop #14-1). The journey takes 5 minutes or so.
Walk down along the road until you get to Building #13 on your left and turn left. Keep walking straight along the blue route shown in the map all the way to the Building #19. It will take about 10 min. The Astronomy Program is located at the third floor of that building.
FROM Seoul Nat'l Univ. Station TO the Astronomy Building
The following map shows the area near the Station of Seoul Nat’l Univ. When you come out exit #3 of Seoul Nat’l Univ. Station you will find a bus stop.
Take the bus No.5513, which runs every 10-15 minutes. Pay 1,000 Won in Korean currency on board and then get off at the stop “College of Engineering (Stop #6). The journey takes 10 minutes or so.
