Cosmography is a branch of cosmology that maps and characterizes the large scale structures of the local Universe. These structures are the direct result of the rivalry between gravitation and the expansion of the Universe, which can be visualized as a tug-of-war between those two opposite forces. The peculiar velocity of a galaxy represent the motion of a galaxy due solely to gravitational interaction. As per this definition, peculiar velocities can be considered unbiased dynamical tracers of the total matter in the universe (dark matter and luminous or baryonic matter), and therefore, as a probe to test the standard cosmological model LCDM. In this talk, I will present how to exploit observed peculiar velocities of galaxies, from the latest Cosmicflows-4 catalog of galaxy distances, to map and characterize the large scale structures of the local Universe.
